About the Area
The Delaware Beach Resort Area features beautiful beaches, lovely scenes of expansive country side, and the enchanting towns of Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. The area offers an extensive selection of activities that could please just about any type of person. It is also within a 2-3 hour drive of major municipalities such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and New York City.
Lewes, the first town in the first state, presents residents and visitors with sandy beaches, a charming harbor and plenty of restaurants and museums. Founded in 1631, Lewes is filled with a historical sense and landmarks can be found around every corner. The town has been referred to as, quiet but progressive, which describes the captivating ambiance it emits.
Rehoboth Beach, Lewes' neighbor to the south, combines the best in hospitality, enjoyment and small-town character. It is a beautiful oceanfront retreat that completes the challenging task of catering to all ages. Rehoboth, which means, room for all, offers nice beaches, a long boardwalk, gourmet restaurants, and specialty stores and outlet malls known up and down the East Coast.

Reader's Digest named the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk as Best of America. This celebration of the quirky, amazing and truly extraordinary was featured in the May 2006 issue.

Further south are the cozy towns of Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. Dewey Beach is known for its laid back lifestyle and its engaging nightlife. Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island (located on the state line) are known as the Quiet Resorts. They provide a soothing family atmosphere nestled on the gorgeous beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and the Little Assawoman Bay.
